A fecal egg count involves looking at a sample of your horse's manure under a microscope. The results will tell you if your horse needs to be dewormed. Fecal samples may be collected by our veterinarians while on your farm, or collected and brought to our office for analysis.
We recommend implementation of an individualized parasite control program for each horse and farm. Did you know that rotation deworming has led to resistance and lack of effectiveness of many available dewormers?
